NBA Rumors: Mavericks To Give Harrison Barnes Offer Sheet; Will Warriors Match?

The Dallas Mavericks aren’t in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, but they still might land one of the NBA’s most coveted free agents.

Golden State Warriors swingman Harrison Barnes reportedly will receive a max offer sheet from the Mavericks when he’s officially able to on July 7.

The Warriors can match the offer sheet because Barnes is a restricted free agent, and they reportedly plan to keep the swingman at any cost. Dallas has very little to lose by offering Barnes, though, especially as it tries to build a roster good enough to get out of the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Barnes averaged 11.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for the Warriors last season, although he didn’t play very well in Golden State’s NBA Finals loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
