Rafael Nadal reaffirmed his status as a hometown hero Wednesday by keeping tennis in proper perspective.

The tennis star briefly halted a match in which he was playing in order to allow a distressed mother find her lost child in Mallorca, Spain.

Cameras were rolling during Nadal’s act of kindness, and the crowd warmly applauded when the family was united again.

Nadal was playing in a doubles match with Mats Wilander against former tennis greats John McEnroe and Carlos Moya.

Nadal was born in Mallorca, and his participation in the event marked the opening of a new sports center on the island.

Here’s yet another reason why the public considers Nadal one of the nicest guys in sports.
