Joanna Jedrzejczyk Headbutts Opponent After Intense UFC 205 Staredown

November 10, 2016

NEW YORK — Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz are both from Poland, but there was no love lost between the two strawweight fighters Thursday afternoon during the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference at Madison Square Garden.

Only about an inch separated Jedrzejczyk and Kowalkiewicz, as they had an intense staredown after the presser. They exchanged several seconds of trash talk before Jedrzejczyk shockingly headbutted Kowalkiewicz before walking off the stage with her championship belt.

The two Polish fighters have fought in the past when they were amateurs with Jedrzejczyk being the victor. Jedrzejczyk, who is one of the best strikers in the sport right now, enters Saturday night’s fight as a huge favorite as she tries to defend her title for the fourth time.
