Friday was an important day across Major League Baseball.

The league held "Jackie Robinson Day" to honor the Brooklyn Dodgers and civil rights giant 73 years after he broke the league's color barrier.

Boston Red Sox legend and MLB Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez took to Twitter to honor the icon for paving the way for countless other Black people to this day.
