NFL Super Pick’ Em: Week 5 Locks Include Bills, Patriots, Steelers

And on the fourth week, Tom Brady’s Emails rested — or should have, anyway.

In hindsight, it probably would have been better for NESN.com’s entrant into the Westgate SuperContest to sit out a couple of plays in Week 4. Instead, TBE scuttled to a 1-4 week and fell out of contention in the Team OddsShark standings.

For now.

NESN.com’s super-picking trio of Mike Cole, Ricky Doyle and Ben Watanabe is back for Week 5, though, eyeing five more games that NFL fans can take to the bank against the spread. The impending 5-0 week will assuredly vault us right back in the thick of things.

Buffalo Bills (-2.5) over Tennessee Titans, Sunday, 1 p.m. ET
LP Field, Nashville
The Bills are just 2-2 against the spread this season, but the Titans are 2-12-1 ATS in their last 15 home games. Buffalo has beaten the spread in five of its last seven road games, and Rex Ryan-coached teams are 9-2 against rookie quarterbacks when facing them for the first time.

Arizona Cardinals (-2.5) over Detroit Lions, Sunday, 4:05 p.m.
Ford Field, Detroit
The Cards have been running roughshod over the spread and failed to cover for the first time this season in last week’s loss to the St. Louis Rams. Arizona still is 12-5 ATS in its last 17 games, though, and 5-1 ATS in its last six against Detroit.

New England Patriots (-8.5) over Dallas Cowboys, Sunday, 4:25 p.m.
AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
The Pats have covered two of their three games this season, with the other being a push against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Still, New England is a mere 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games coming off a bye. We’re not putting too much weight into that here, though, because Dallas is 1-5 ATS in its last seven games at home and Brandon Weeden is starting at quarterback.

New York Giants (-7) over San Francisco 49ers, Sunday, 8:30 p.m.
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.
The Niners are 1-9 ATS in their last 10, which is mind-blowing considering they haven’t been good for the last season-plus. Basically, they’ve been underdogs a lot and lost by even more points than Las Vegas predicted. Also, Colin Kaepernick has thrown for no touchdowns and five interceptions in his last two games while New York’s defense has made some nice strides.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+3) over San Diego Chargers, Monday, 8:30 p.m.
Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego
The Steelers own San Diego in the sportsbooks, going 10-4 ATS in their last 14 against the Superchargers. The Bolts also struggle to cover at home, posting a 1-6 ATS record in their last seven at Qualcomm, including last week’s three-point win over the Cleveland Browns as nine-point favorites.
