NFL Week 9 Injury Update: Patriots’ Dion Lewis Goes Down With Knee Injury

9:50 p.m.: ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided updates on a few of the biggest injuries of the day.

First, Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger:

And New England’s surprise stud, Dion Lewis.

4:52 p.m.: The Patriots will have to wait for a diagnosis for Dion Lewis.

4:08 p.m.: Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could be out for the second time this season.

3:38 p.m.: There was a scary situation in Minneapolis, as Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was momentarily knocked unconscious after a late hit by St. Louis Rams safety Lamarcus Joyner.

Bridgewater unsurprisingly headed to the locker room after that.

3:22 p.m.: In more bad news to the Patriots, Dion Lewis won’t return to action thanks to a knee injury. However, there’s no word on the severity of the injury.

3:03 p.m.: In a pleasant surprise for Colts fans, T.Y. Hilton is active vs. Denver.

2:16 p.m.: Bad news for the Patriots, who already are thin on the offensive line:

2:15 p.m.: In other Jets injury news, center Nick Mangold has left Sunday’s game with a neck injury and is questionable to return.

2:09 p.m.: New York Jets kicker Nick Folk is playing Sunday, just not in his usual role.

12:32 p.m.: Here’s the latest on who’s active and inactive for Sunday:

12:28 p.m: Jamie Collins was with the Patriots on Sunday morning but got sent home, according to NESN.com’s own Doug Kyed.

11:55 a.m.: The Green Bay Packers will be without starting cornerback Sam Shields and wide receiver Ty Montgomery against the undefeated Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

11:38 a.m.: The latest on Collins’ status, from the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe:

11:32 a.m.: It’s confirmed: Jamie Collins is out for New England.

11:31 a.m.: The Redskins’ inactives are out. DeAngelo Hall and Terrance Knighton are inactive, while DeSean Jackson is active.

11:30 a.m.: The St. Louis Rams will be without a starting offensive lineman and a premier pass-rusher Sunday, per NFL Network’s Steve Wyche.

11:27 a.m.: Bad news for New England Patriots fans: Linebacker Jamie Collins, who was added to the team’s injury report Saturday with an illness, is not expected to play Sunday, per CSNNE’s Mike Giardi.

11:24 a.m.: It’s not looking good for Colts wideout T.Y. Hilton, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

9:40 a.m.: The New York Giants will have the services of wide receiver Reuben Randle on Sunday, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

9:15 a.m.: The Washington Redskins are pretty banged up heading into their matchup with the New England Patriots.

But it looks like they’ll have one skill player back on the field.

The Redskins announced Saturday that defensive tackle Terrance Knighton will miss Sunday’s game with a migraine.

9:05 a.m.: Among the early notable updates: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is a game-time decision, New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall expects to play and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins looks like he won’t play.

9 a.m. ET: Another week of NFL football brings more potential close calls on the injury front.

Week 9’s Sunday slate kicks off with seven 1 p.m. ET games, followed by three late-afternoon contests and an NFC East clash between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”
