The New England Patriots will look to extend their current road winning streak to eight games when they visit the Denver Broncos on Sunday night as three-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Patriots improved to 10-0 on the season with a 20-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, but they failed to pick up the against-the-spread win for the fourth time in their last six outings, tallying a push as seven-point favorites to drop to 2-2-2 ATS during that stretch.

Despite its recent troubles at the sportsbooks, New England has largely dominated opponents, holding them to just 14 points per game in its last four heading into Sunday night’s Patriots vs. Broncos betting matchup at Sports Authority Field. The Patriots have allowed only one second-half touchdown pass over their last four games, while surrendering just 16 total points, surpassing the Broncos as the league leaders in team defense with just 18.2 points allowed per game.

However, New England will face an unfamiliar adversary under center in Denver this weekend, as Brock Osweiler gets the start in his second career NFL game. Osweiler stepped in last week in place of injured Peyton Manning and led the Broncos to a 17-15 win over the Chicago Bears, throwing two touchdown passes as the team ended a two-game SU win streak but failed to cover as 2 1/2-point chalk, extending its current ATS slide to three games.

Denver has been a disappointment at the sportsbooks for several weeks, going 2-4-1 ATS in its last seven overall, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, and just 3-5 ATS in its last eight contests on home turf, but posting outright victories in each of its last three as underdogs.

While the Broncos recently have risen to the occasion as betting underdogs, history is not on their side in recent matchups with the Patriots, as they’ve dropped five of their last six overall against New England both SU and ATS.

However, Denver holds a home-field advantage, going 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven versus New England at Mile High, including a 26-16 victory in its most recent clash in the 2013 AFC Championship Game, easily covering as 4 1/2-point chalk.
