It’s hard to win in the NFL, but you might argue it’s harder to win in the Westgate SuperContest.

OK, so maybe that’s not entirely true, but it’s been a struggle for NESN.com’s Mike Cole and Ricky Doyle, aka Team NESN, one of the handful of teams representing Team OddsShark in the premier football handicapping contest.

But last week was a step in the right direction for Team NESN, who turned in its best week of the season and did a little climbing up the Team OddsShark standings.

Can they keep it up this week? Check out their picks below.

Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Sunday, 1 p.m. ET
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

Maybe if this line got pushed to a field goal, it would be enough to scare us away, but there are plenty of angles to like here: The Vikings are 5-0 against the spread, coming off a bye, and they have a ferocious pass rush going up against an Eagles offensive line that looked very penetrable without the suspended Lane Johnson last week.

Kanas City Chiefs (-6.5) over New Orleans Saints, Sunday, 1 p.m.
Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City

The Chiefs went on the road last week and slowed down a potent Raiders passing attack, and they should have similar success against the Saints at home this week. There’s also the whole fact that the Saints can’t stop anyone, which might be a slight problem, especially against the Chiefs’ potent rushing attack.

Oakland Raiders (+1) over Jacksonville Jaguars, Sunday, 1 p.m.
EverBank Field, Jacksonville

Both of these teams are tough to get a read on, but the Raiders had a tough matchup last week against a Chiefs team that rarely turns over the ball. The Jaguars are a little more careless with the football, which should make the difference, even with Oakland having to go across the country and play an early game.

San Diego Chargers (+6.5) over Atlanta Falcons, Sunday, 4:05 p.m.
Georgia Dome, Atlanta

The Falcons should win this game, even though the Chargers are going to be jacked up after a win last week and coming in off an extended break after having the Thursday game. But are the Falcons going to cover the number? We’re going to say no, especially if this game plays out like everyone assumes: lots and lots of points on both sides.

New England Patriots (-7) over Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday, 4:25 p.m.
Heinz Field, Pittsburgh

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick own the Steelers, and while taking a road favorite of at least a touchdown probably goes against conventional betting wisdom, the Patriots are the one team we’re willing to take a chance on and pick.
