The scenarios have been tossed around for weeks now, but the biggest question about a potential trade of Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony remains, what does Melo want?

And according to ESPN.com, the All-Star forward has yet to express any sort of interest in a trade that would send him to the Nets, as he's reportedly unwilling to sign an extension with the Jersey club.

"He has not agreed to go to New Jersey," a source close to Anthony is quoted as saying in the ESPN.com report. "I have never heard him, in all the times we've talked, say he's willing to go to New Jersey. Not once. Personally, I would be stunned if he went there and signed an extension."

Of course, without Anthony signing that oh-so-important extension, the reported three-team, 15-player deal, that likely includes the Pistons in addition to the Nuggets and Nets, likely won't happen.

Anthony is a free agent following this season, so any team who would be interested in trading for him — like a Nets team that would have to part with a potential franchise cornerstone in Derrick Favors, along with All-Star guard Devin Harris — would likely only do so with the framework for an extension agreed upon.

Making matters trickier, is that about a month ago, Anthony reportedly expressed that he would only sign a long-term contract extension if he were traded to the Knicks.
