Jordan Caron Recalled from Providence, But Will Not Be in Lineup for Bruins Against Penguins

BOSTON –- The Bruins will look to bounce back from Thursday's loss to Carolina as they close out a three-game homestand by welcoming Pittsburgh to the Garden on Saturday afternoon.

Boston recalled Jordan Caron from Providence on Saturday morning, but coach Claude Julien stated that Caron would not be in the lineup against the Penguins.

"He just got called up and he's not playing today," Julien said. "But we don't have any extra forwards. He's been playing well in Providence from what I hear. [Bruins general manager] Peter [Chiarelli] saw him play last night and really liked his game."

With Caron not playing, the Bruins lineup should remain unchanged, though Caron could replace the struggling Zach Hamill in coming games.

Julien also confirmed that Nathan Horton rode the exercise bike Friday for the first time as he continues his recovery from a concussion. Horton will remain out indefinitely, however.

Tim Thomas is expected to get the start in goal after Tuukka Rask played in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Hurricanes.

The Penguins will have Cal O'Reilly making his Pittsburgh debut, centering a line with Steve Sullivan and Tyler Kennedy. O'Reilly was claimed on waivers from Phoenix on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh remains without star center Sidney Crosby (concussion), along with forwards Jordan Staal (knee) and Arron Asham (concussion) and defensemen Robert Burtuzzo (concussion) and Simon Despres (knee). Defenseman Deryk Engelland also missed the last game with an undisclosed injury and his status is uncertain for this contest.

Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to be in net after Brent Johnson played in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Toronto.

Paul Devorski and Brad Watson will be the referees, with Lonnie Cameron and Shane Heyer working the lines.
