Benny Feilhaber landed in New England a little over a year ago, but the Revolution playmaker is already making an impact on the field and off it.
First, the Californian (by way of Brazilian) caught the attention of the local trend setters with his fashionable wardrobe. His next outing should capture the hearts of kids and ice-cream lovers everywhere.
On July 6, between 4 and 6 p.m., Feilhaber will go behind the counter at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop on Newbury St., in Boston (174 Newbury St., between Dartmouth and Exeter Streets) and “scoop” customers’ orders.
Feilhaber will be doing it for a good cause too. Both his tips and 25 percent of all sales during that two-hour period will be donated to Boston Children’s Hospital.
Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s leading pediatric health centers. It strives to be the worldwide leader in improving the health of young people.
Fans will get the chance to see if Feilhaber’s scooping technique is as good as his touch on the soccer field. The Rev Girls and the team mascot, Slyde will be on hand as well.
