The New York Mets may be the biggest fans of MTV’s reality TV show Jersey Shore.
First, on Monday night cast member Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi attended a Mets game only to receive a ridiculous round of boos from the New York faithful. Now on August 8, Paul DelVecchio, best know as “DJ Pauly D,” will be spinning postgame music at Citi Field.
After getting off to a hot start, the Mets are slowly drifting into last place in the NL East. With all of these “celebrities” making special appearances for the Mets ownership, are they coming to the realization that their team has no chance of making the postseason? And are they really so desperate that they need the Jersey Shore crew to attract fans?
Surely DJ Pauly D is a fantastic entertainer, and he was an intricate member of the Jersey Shore. But Pauly may be forced into a tough situation if the Mets lose — which they’ve done in nine of their past 10 games – on Aug. 8. He could very well feel the wrath of Mets fans even more than Snooki did on Monday night.
