Matt Cassel has had his struggles this season, but Kansas City fans took it too far by cheering when he went down with injury. At least that's what Chiefs right tackle Eric Winston thought.
Winston blasted Chiefs' fans when he met with the media after the game.
"When you cheer somebody getting knocked out, I don't care who it is, and
it just so happened to be Matt Cassel — it's sickening," said Winston. "It's 100
percent sickening. I've been in some rough times on some rough teams,
I've never been more embarrassed in my life to play football than in
that moment right there."
Cassel has thrown for 1,150 yards on the season with five touchdowns, nine interceptions and four lost fumbles as he's lead the Chiefs to a 1-4 record. The Chiefs lost to the Ravens 9-6 on Sunday. Cassel left the game with a head injury and did not return.
Brady Quinn replaced Cassel and completed three passes on three attempts for 32 yards.
