Tim Tebow may have only played a little more than 10 percent
of the Jets' offensive snaps this year, but he's still a hot commodity in the
rumor mill.
Reports of a Tebow trade to his hometown of Jacksonville,
Fla., sprouted up over night, as the Jets and Jaguars were rumored to be in
discussions.
Now, that speculation is being shot down.
There is no truth to the Tebow trade talks between the Jags
and the Jets, according to NFL.com's Albert Breer.
A Jets source told Breer that the Jets and Jaguars have not had any discussions
regarding Tebow.
This isn't the first time that Tebow has been linked to
Jacksonville, though. Before the Broncos dealt Tebow to the Jets during the
offseason, the Jaguars reportedly made an offer in an attempt to acquire the
polarizing quarterback.
Ultimately, the Jets landed Tebow and it's been nothing but peaches and
rosebuds ever since — OK, so not all speculation can be true.
Tebow has completed two of his three passes for 32 yards
this season. He's also run the ball 23 times for 78 yards but has yet to find
the end zone either with his arm or legs.
For now, it appears that Tebow will continue lining up in
the backfield, and sometimes at receiver, for Gang Green. The Jags will just
have to wait until the offseason to make their pitch to the Jets to bringTebowmania to
Jacksonville.
