Tebow Time might not be here quite yet, but it’s ticking ever closer.
Tim Tebow is expected to get more reps and have a “larger role” for the Jets on Monday night, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
The move comes, according to Mehta, with the recognition that Tebow is now the team’s most dangerous weapon and “best playmaker.”
That might not be saying much for a Jets offense that is 28th in the league in total offense and passing yards per game, but it could be an acknowledgement that Gang Green is sorely in need of improvement on the attack.
Starting quarterback Mark Sanchez has been abysmal this season, completing only 49.2 percent of his passes while throwing four interceptions in the team’s first four games. With attendance sputtering at MetLife Stadium and Rex Ryan coming under more and more scrutiny, it could only be a matter of time before Tebow gets the keys full-time to the Jets offense.
