Ed Reed Told John Harbaugh After Super Bowl That He Wants to Be Back With Ravens Next Season

Ed ReedRay Lewis‘ career finished on a high note on Sunday, but another defensive superstar from the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII win appears primed for a return.

Ed Reed, whose name was swirling around the rumor mill this week, wants to finish his career right where it began in Baltimore. Ravens coach John Harbaugh said during his Monday morning news conference that he and Reed chatted on the bus back from the Superdome on Sunday night, and both agreed that he should be back in purple and black next season.

“I want him back, he wants to come back,” Harbaugh said. “Ed’s a Baltimore Raven.”

Reed played a big part in the Ravens’ 34-31 Super Bowl win, recording five tackles and intercepting a pass, and it appears the Ravens plan on him doing more of the same for them in the near future.

So, while Reed expressed an interest in playing for Patriots coach Bill Belichick earlier this week, at least for now it looks like he’ll be sticking around Baltimore for a few more seasons.
