The Jets were hoping for some big things out of new running back Mike Goodson this year, but this isn’t what they were talking about.

Goodson, who came to the Jets this offseason after a year in Oakland, was arrested early Friday morning on drug possession and weapons charges, according to News 12 New Jersey.

“Sources say Goodson and a companion were found intoxicated in an SUV along Route 80 in Denville. Authorities have not said why the car was stopped on the highway,” according to the report.

Officers searching the SUV reportedly found marijuana and a loaded 45-caliber handgun.

A fourth-round pick by the Panthers in 2009, the former Texas A&M running back has notched 722 rushing yards, 524 receiving yards and four touchdowns (three rushing) in 40 career NFL games.
