FOXBORO, Mass. — Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo were able to get in some extra work on Thursday at organized team activities.
Fourth-year backup quarterback Ryan Mallett was among seven New England Patriots players who were not spotted during OTAs. Mallett’s absence was excused, the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe reported.
Wide receivers Aaron Dobson and Brandon LaFell, defensive tackles Dominique Easley, Armond Armstead and Tommy Kelly, and cornerback Alfonzo Dennard also were absent from practice.
Dennard, Dobson and Easley have missed every OTA thus far.
Wide receiver Matthew Slater, tight ends Rob Gronkowski and D.J. Williams, cornerback Justin Green and linebacker Deontae Skinner were limited, disappearing into the Dana-Farber Field House after warming up. Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and defensive end Will Smith participated in drills and 11-on-11s for an hour before heading into the practice bubble.
