Brandon Flowers really does believe he’s the best cornerback in the NFL.
So much, in fact, that he’s getting a permanent marking to back up his bold claim.
Flowers, who claimed he was the league’s best in an interview with NFL Network last week, got a tattoo on his leg to represent his opinion. The tattoo is designed after a pose Flowers struck flexing both arms in the end zone.
As you might notice, Flowers did recognize some other NFL cornerbacks such as Darrelle Revis, Patrick Peterson, Aqib Talib and Joe Haden. One name he didn’t mention? Richard Sherman.
So why does Flowers believe he’s the league’s best cornerback?
“Because I do it all, I just don’t play the outside,” Flowers told Aja Dang of FoxSports.com’s The Buzzer. “I can play outside, I can play the slot, I can do whatever coach needs me to do on the field. Whatever the team needs me to do on the field. Not a lot of guys can do that.”
San Diego Chargers fans will be happy to hear this, as Flowers signed a a one-year contract to join the team in late June. The 28-year-old initially received interest from the New England Patriots after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs in order to clear salary cap space.
