Rumors were flying over the Internet on Tuesday that Ray Allen had followed LeBron James and signed a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but his agent promptly shot them down.

Jim Tanner of Tandem Sports tweeted that not only has the former Boston Celtic not committed to Cleveland, he hasn’t even committed to playing another season.

ProBasketballTalk’s Kurt Helin added that fans shouldn’t be surprised if Allen waits until the middle of the season to make a decision, as the 39-year-old would only be playing for a ring at this point in his career.

Allen will almost certainly go to Cleveland if he does choose to play for another year, but he’ll have to decide if it’s worth it at this point in his career first.
