Daniel SturridgeDaniel Sturridge will continue to call Liverpool home for a long time.

The club announced Friday that it has reached a long-term agreement with the striker. Exact terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

“It feels great,” Sturridge told the club’s website. “It’s a big, big day in my life to commit to this club and to give the club my best years, which are ahead of me.”

Sturridge came to Liverpool in January 2013 after the Reds paid a hefty transfer fee to Chelsea. Since then, the Englishman has been an important part of the club, scoring 36 goals in 52 games with Liverpool. Sturridge’s 21 goals last season made him the leading scorer among Englishmen in the Barclays Premier League.

Even with all of his accomplishments, Sturridge believes the best is yet to come.

“I may have had some good games and scored some goals, but literally this is the beginning in terms of what I can show,” he said. “I don’t feel I’ve shown really what I can do as a footballer.”

If that’s the case, then the rest of the league should be very scared.
