Daniel Sturridge: I’ll Return From Latest Injury ‘Soon, Strong, Ready’

Daniel Sturridge has broken his silence amid the heartbreak of his latest injury setback.

Sturridge, 25, suffered a new thigh injury last week, which likely will delay his long-awaited return to Liverpool’s lineup until the new year. Sturridge used Instagram on Wednesday to tell Liverpool fans that he’ll draw strength from adversity and be back soon.

After scoring 25 goals (in all competitions) last season, Sturridge was expected to lead Liverpool’s attack in 2014-15. Injuries have sidelined him since early September, limiting his goal tally to one in three games this term.

Sturridge has missed the Reds’ last 15 games (in all competitions) with thigh and calf injuries, and Liverpool has struggled in his absence. Liverpool now sits in 12th place in the Premier League, having earned eight points from the nine league games which Sturridge has missed. Liverpool also faces the prospect of elimination from the UEFA Champions League if it fails to beat Ludogorets on Wednesday.

Sturridge won’t play against the Bulgarian club, but there’s no doubt that he’s wants to come back and kick start both his and Liverpool’s season as soon as he can.
