Patriots, Bengals, Chiefs Reshape AFC Picture With Excellence In Running Game

A few teams unlocked that success Sunday, as the NFL landscape was altered with a crazy day of football. Teams like the New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs picked up huge wins and shook up the AFC in the process.

The common thread between those four teams, as ex-NFL linebacker Matt Chatham pointed out Monday morning, is all of those teams ran the ball extremely well.

It’s a reminder that even in today’s NFL, the running game is still vital.

“Nothing forced them to run the ball,” Chatham wrote on FootballByFootball.com. “It was the best way to win a football game, even with the road to passing glory slathered with Brylcreem.”
