Kurt BuschKurt Busch is known as “The Outlaw,” but never before for something that allegedly happened off the racetrack.

The NASCAR driver is being investigated for a domestic violence assault allegation in Delaware, The Associated Press reports. Busch’s attorney has called the allegations “a complete fabrication.”

Patricia Driscoll, Busch’s ex-girlfriend, said the allegations involved an incident inside his motorhome at a race, according to a statement issued Friday by police in Dover, Del. Busch has not been charged, according to AP. NASCAR has said it is aware of the situation.

Busch’s lawyer, celebrity attorney Rusty Hardin, also released a statement saying Busch “expects to be vindicated.

“The Dover Police Department has been informed that Mr. Busch will fully cooperate with their investigation and he expects to be vindicated when the entire truth of the situation comes to light,” Hardin’s statement read. “This allegation is a complete fabrication by a woman who has refused to accept the end of a relationship and Mr. Busch vehemently denies her allegations in every respect.

“At this time, we intend to have no further comment in the media out of respect for the Dover Police Department’s desire to conduct a thorough investigation without a media circus.”
