Lakers’ Nick Young: I’ll Score 46,000 Points By My 20th Season In NBA

Nick Young is planning to become the greatest basketball player of all time.

After calling himself the greatest 3-point shooter ever, the Los Angeles Lakers guard said he will reach the 46,000 point mark in his 20th season playing in the NBA.

Swaggy P’s teammate, Kobe Bryant, is not too far from surpassing Michael Jordan for third place on the all-time scoring list, but Young thinks he can do better.

Let’s do some quick math.

Young has 5,952 career points in his eighth season. Assuming he plays 82 games per season — something he’s done only once — for the next 12 seasons and stays healthy throughout the rest of this season, he’ll have to average over 38 points per game.

In other words, Young will have to more than triple his scoring output and stay healthy throughout the rest of his career in order to accomplish the impossible feat.

Of course, the first inclination is to assume Young is kidding, but considering he’s a man who calls himself Swaggy P, there’s always a good chance he’s being serious.
