USC athletic director Pat Haden will not attend this week’s College Football Playoff meeting in Indiana in a show of protest against the state’s newly passed “religious freedom” law.

Haden tweeted his decision Tuesday afternoon.

Haden is boycotting legislation that would allow businesses in the state to deny service to gays and lesbians — or any group — by claiming a religious objection. The NCAA last week announced it was “concerned” about how the law might affect this weekend’s Final Four in Indianapolis.
