Someone should remind Matt Barnes that Mother’s Day is coming up.

The Los Angeles Clippers guard got into it with Houston Rockets star James Harden on Wednesday, drawing a technical foul for bumping Harden after flooring him with a hard foul.

But it didn’t end there.

According to multiple reports, Barnes later took aim at Harden’s mom, Monja Willis, who was sitting courtside for the Game 2 of the teams’ Western Conference semifinal series.

(CBS Houston’s Nick Wright shared what Barnes allegedly said to Willis. Be forewarned that it includes some very unkind language.)

To Barnes’ credit, Willis said the guard did apologize after the game after being confronted by one of her other sons.

“What he told me was that he would never want to disrespect anyone’s mother because his mother passed from cancer,” Willis told TMZ.com, “… and that he was sorry.”

Wednesday was an all-around bad night for Barnes, who finished with just six points in 34 minutes as Houston won 115-109 to even the best-of-seven series at one game apiece.
