It’s finally Tebow Time.

Tim Tebow returned to the NFL on Sunday, playing the majority of the third quarter and all of the fourth for the Philadelphia Eagles in a 36-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

He was greeted by a standing ovation from Philadelphia fans.

The former first-round draft choice is battling Mark Sanchez, Sam Bradford and Matt Barkley for the quarterback job in Philly. His performance, while mediocre, looked to be an improvement.

Tebow has spent the past two years working on his throwing mechanics. When he took the field Sunday, he looked more like an NFL quarterback than he ever had before, making a few nice throws and stepping up in the pocket — not scrambling — to avoid pressure and finish plays.

Of course, the Florida Gators product wasn’t averse to the run game either: He finished with 15 yards rushing, including an 11-yard touchdown, his first since throwing two touchdowns in a fourth quarter comeback with the New England Patriots in the final preseason game of 2013.

He also completed 6 of 12 passes for 69 yards.
