The clash of North American soccer titans is upon us, as the United States men’s national soccer team faces Mexico in the 2015 CONCACAF Cup.
As winners of the last two editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the U.S. and Mexico meet in a one-game playoff Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasedena, Calif., to determine the region’s representative in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
Records and form are almost irrelevant when these two rivals face off. The players on the field on the particular day will determine which team has earned the right to compete with Germany, host nation Russia and the champions of Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and South America in less than two years’ time.
