Cubs Teammates Give ‘Grandpa’ David Ross Motorized Scooter To Get Around

David Ross’ teammates apparently are concerned about the backstop’s knees.

The Chicago Cubs backup catcher is retiring after the 2016 campaign, and third baseman Kris Bryant and first baseman Anthony Rizzo already began documenting Ross’ season year with an Instagram account for “Grandpa Rossy.” And on Thursday, the team helped Ross further transition into retirement mode by getting him a set of wheels fit for a real grandpa.

From the looks of it, Ross is enjoying his motorized scooter, and that bag caddie actually is pretty cool. Oh, and he’ll be living in style on the road this season. Maybe the joke’s on the Cubs, after all.
