NESN’s Boston Red Sox play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien served as the featured speaker at The Great Fenway Park Writers Series sponsored by Bank of America on Thursday, April 14 at Fenway’s State Street Pavilion. The Red Sox are the only professional sports team to sponsor a writers series, due to Boston’s rich literary history and the civic involvement of the team

Among the guests who attended the event to hear O’Brien speak was Ben Bradlee Jr., author of “The Kid: The Immortal Life of Ted Williams” and a former Boston Globe journalist who contributed to the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation that was later captured in the Academy Award winning movie “Spotlight.”

Other well known guests included former Massachusetts governor Michael Dukakis, Pawtucket Red Sox president Charles Steinberg, former Boston news anchor Natalie Jacobson and CEO/executive director of Foundation To Be Named Later, Allyce Najimy.
