FOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski played just two seasons with former New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk, but that was more than enough to realize the sizable impact Faulk made on the team.

Faulk will enter the Patriots Hall of Fame on Monday, and he also will be honored during halftime of the team’s home opener against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 18.

“Kevin Faulk, he’s just a beast. Congratulations to him. He definitely deserves the honor,” Gronkowski said after Sunday’s training camp practice at Gillette Stadium.

“The big message from him was just (to) stay consistent. Coming out every single day and working hard every single day. I played with him and that’s one thing he brought every single day was consistency. That’s huge in the NFL.”

Gronkowski has followed Faulk’s message pretty well.

When healthy, he’s been the most productive and consistent tight end in the NFL. Gronk has tallied 10 or more touchdown receptions in five of his six pro seasons. The only season he didn’t reach that mark was 2013 when he played just seven games because of injuries.
