Jimmy Fund Prepares to Strike Out Cancer With the NESN/WEEI Telethon less than a week away, it’s time for Red Sox Nation and beyond to break out their checkbooks for an incredible cause.

Charlotte O’Shea, her mother Janet and her sister Kathryn took the Yawkey Way stage on Friday night before the Red Sox-Yankees matchup to prepare us for the annual telethon, which is to be held on Aug. 27-28 and air live on NESN.

This year’s telethon will be the third for Charlotte, who was diagnosed with a very rare, malignant brain tumor in 2007. Charlotte will be heading to kindergarten next month and has been able to battle through this rare case thanks to those who have donated to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Clinic.
