Delonte West Skips Out on Cavaliers' First Practice
Stealing a page from Bartolo Colon's playbook, Delonte West is MIA.

The Cavaliers guard, who was recently arrested for gun possession in Maryland after being pulled over for a traffic violation while toting three guns, did not attend Cleveland's first practice on Tuesday and his absence was unexcused, according to ESPN.com.

Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown confirmed that West was not present at the team's morning session and did not know whether he would be attending the evening session.

"On a personal note, you always hope he's doing well," the coach told ESPN.com. "But I have to continue looking forward and coaching this team. Whether it's Delonte or somebody else, if they miss practice and it is unexcused it will be handled internally."

West was charged with two counts of possessing a concealed handgun and is due in court on Nov. 20.

The former St. Joseph's standout appeared to be in good spirits at media day on Monday. He told reporters that he had resumed taking mood-regulating medication and was ready for this season. Last year, West left the team during training camp to receive treatment for bipolar disorder.

In 2008-09, West averaged 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while averaging a career-high in steals.
