In a move that many will question, Joe Girardi has decided to go with Jose Molina at catcher in Game 2 of the ALDS over Jorge Posada, The Journal News reports.

Problems have been reported all season between Posada and Game 2 starter A.J. Burnett, and Burnett's poor starts with Posada behind the plate ended up helping Girardi to make his decision. With Molina entering the lineup, it is unknown whether or not Posada will be used as the designated hitter, but Posada didn't seem to think so.

"Matsui is our DH," Posada told The Journal News when asked about the option of switching roles for Game 2.

The move takes one of the Yankees' biggest bats out of the lineup for a pivotal Game 2 at home, and in Posada's mind, Girardi had better be right with his decision to put 22 home runs and 81 RBIs on the bench.

"I just hope we win that game," Posada told the paper. "That’s all I’ve got to say."
