TBS Breaks 33-Year Ratings Record With MLB Division Series Coverage Although the sports world is chest-deep in the NFL season, the Major League Baseball Division Series on TBS ruled TV land last week.

According to MediaWeek.com, TBS gained its best ratings of its 33-year history with its coverage of the first-round AL and NL playoff series, averaging 5.41 million total viewers. The network also set highs by averaging 2.54 million adults ages 25-54, 2.46 million viewers ages 18-49 and 1.12 million viewers ages 18-34.

According to the report, TBS owned seven of the week's 10 most-watched cable telecasts, including Game 3 of the Yankees-Twins ALDS (6.79 million viewers);
Game 1 of that same series (6.61 million) and the Tigers-Twins play-in
game on Oct. 6, which drew 6.54 million viewers.

Other big draws were
Game 2 of the Yankees-Twins series (6.48 million viewers); Game 2 of
the Cardinals-Dodgers NLDS (5.18 million); Game 2 of the Red Sox-Angels
ALDS (5.07 million) and Game 1 of the Cards-Dodgers tilt (4.97
million).
