There’s an undeniable connection between fans and athletes. Though athletes live in a different world, most fans believe they have a lot in common with their favorite players.

Such is the case with a reader by the name of “georgeturnerr.” He has watched Eli Manning — both on TV and on VCR — struggle since suffering from a plantar fascia injury. Georgeturnerr knows exactly what’s going on.

“There is NO way it will heal this season. I have had it and I could not wait to get out of my cycling shoes. It hurt me in the sprint not so much in climbs were the foot is stretched. I watched early Eli and he was making his young Rcvr’s look good. However you can easily see He plants different week 2 on my VCR he plants his right foot hard in back and his left foot forward and his passing was beauty. tight spirals incredible placement. Since then he plants like a none coached QB his feet are even and he throws with his upper body looks bad. Carr should have took his place we may have been 6 3 instead of 5 4. No matter this years over. Just hope it’s not chronic then we paid 99 mill for a very short lived career. For me it was chronic in fact it hurts now and I have not raced in 10 years”

Just three short years ago, Dennis Green, then the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, made history by flipping out, smacking a microphone and storming out of his news conference. The Cards had just blown a 20-0 halftime lead, and the coach was not happy about “letting them off the hook.”

This week, the Cardinals opened up a big lead over the Bears. Though Chicago cut it close, Arizona hung on for a 41-21 win. After the game, head coach Ken Whisenhunt paid homage to his predecessor.
