Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Wideman will be personally delivering $1,000 worth of pies to various Boston homeless shelters on Thanksgiving Day.

Wideman purchased the pies from Mike's Pastry in the North End, and he will deliver the pies from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. He'll make his first stop at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, and his final stop will be the Boston Rescue Mission.

This season, Wideman has a goal and six assists. On Nov. 19 against Atlanta, he recorded two assists to reach 100 for his career. After spending a year and a half with the St. Louis Blues, he was traded to Boston for Brad Boyes on Feb. 27, 2007. Since then, he's played in 200 games for the Bruins, scoring 28 goals, registering 68 assists and posting a plus-40 rating.
