Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor has expressed interest in joining Bill Belichick's crew and admitted Wednesday during a conference call that he will consider it in the offseason when he becomes a free agent.
“We’ll see after the seasons over. I know my deal ends at the end of the year,” Taylor said. “We’ll reevaluate where we’re at at the end of the year, what the teams want to do and take it from there. You never close off any of your options, you don’t burn any bridges and you always keep an open mind.”
The Dolphins and their 35-year-old Pro Bowler and former defensive player of the year are hosting Belichick's Pats this Sunday. This past offseason, the Pats were reportedly pursuing Taylor before he decided to rejoin the Dolphins after just one season with Washington.
Taylor has 28 tackles and six sacks this season and has 126.5 sacks in 196 career games since joining the NFL in 1997 as a third-round pick out of Akron.
