Report: Red Sox Sign Catcher Gustavo Molina to Minor League Deal

The Red Sox have signed catcher Gustavo Molina to a minor league contract, according to WEEI.com.

The 27-year-old played in 72 games for the Nationals' Triple-A club in 2009 and last appeared in the major leagues with the New York Mets in 2008 when he played two games. In 762 career minor league games, Molina has a career .235 batting average with 46 home runs.

The Venezuela native is not related to brothers Jose, Bengie and Yadier.
