Plenty of Reasons to Keep Tabs on Round-the-Clock Red Sox Spring Break Coverage Admit it, Red Sox fans. You would happily spend 10 minutes watching a palm tree blow in the wind in high definition with the sound of gloves popping and bats cracking in the background.

Heck, throw in Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo having a classic unscripted laugh attack and you're in baseball heaven, right?

Yes, it's time for spring training to take away the winter blues — or at least help forget about them for a few hours a day. Baseball's preseason camp is more than just a few weeks of stretching out the arm, getting in some hacks at the cage and spending the rest of the 20-plus hours on the golf course.

The preseason is also the building block to a strong regular season, and this year is no different for the Red Sox. There's a reigning champ to catch in the division, a new-look left side of the infield and a third ace aboard the staff. There's a lot to learn about this team and even more to get excited for. And it starts now.

Fans included.

While a trip to Fort Myers replenishes the soul for even the most bitter New Englanders, members of the Nation don't need to break the bank to check in on how Jon Lester looks on the mound or what David Ortiz is always laughing about.

NESN's Spring Break Coverage begins early and will be televised often. Starting Thursday night, there will be no Red Sox stone left unturned. Whether it's a Daisuke Matsuzaka injury update, an exercise tip from Josh Beckett or the running tally on Terry Francona and Dustin Pedroia's cribbage match, the Nation will be there to see it. Even if it's hundreds of miles away and dozens of degrees colder.

So welcome to spring training, Red Sox Nation. Although there's no such thing as the offseason in this town, it's officially time to get the ball rolling on the 2010 Red Sox season.
