'Hot Shot' Branch Still 'Spreading Joy' as Member of Harlem Globetrotters The Harlem Globetrotters will appear at TD Garden on March 27 and 28. In advance of the event, “Hot Shot” Branch spoke to NESN about what it means to be a Globetrotter.

Even though the team balances entertainment with basketball, it still takes a lot of work to stay in shape and pull off their tricks. Branch worked hard at his craft through high school and college, and he hasn’t stopped while playing for the Globetrotters.

The Globetrotters have a rich history, one that Branch admits he wasn’t fully aware of when he joined the squad six years ago.

Now that he’s fully aware of the impact the Globetrotters have had over the years, “I appreciate even more that I’m part of the team,” he said.

Established in 1926, the Globetrotters have boasted several impressive names on their roster — including NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain.

Past all the glitz and glamour, the Globetrotters pitch in when they can, visiting hospitals and participating in charities, something Branch values.
