FOXBORO, Mass. — Members of the Patriots aren’t ducking discussions of a possible NFL work stoppage in 2011. Surely, it’s a frightening notion, and it looms closer and seems to look more likely with each passing day. Rather than avoiding that topic of conversation, though, running back Sammy Morris said it does get brought up in the locker room.

"Yeah, we talk about it," Morris said. "It’s frustrating. It’s interesting. It’s a bunch of different things. We kind of just have to sit and watch and kind of hope for the best."

Morris said they don’t really know what to think. It’s obvious that no one wants to miss a season, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how devastating that would be for the game.

The Patriots are in their third week of voluntary workouts at Gillette Stadium, and they’re finding out it can be pretty difficult lifting weights with their fingers crossed.

"I definitely keep an eye on that thing and really just wait and see," Morris said. "Hopefully, it works out."
