Marc Savard Goes For a Ride at Bruins Practice There are a lot of people out there who are worried about Marc Savard‘s return to the ice. Don’t count Savard among them.

The B’s top center was in a loose mood at practice on Thursday, hitting the ice (literally) and enjoying the ride.

Come Saturday afternoon, it’s safe to assume you won’t be able to catch him smiling anymore.

Quote of the day

“We run-prevented the [heck] of them.”
–Dustin Pedroia, to The Boston Globe, after the Red Sox earned their first series sweep of the season in Toronto

Comment of the day

You’ll never convince a Bostonian that Phil Jackson is a better coach than Red Auerbach.

“Jackson better than Arnold ‘Red’ Auerbach? Red only won titles with players most people thought didn’t belong in the NBA at all before those players became Celtics. Can Jackson make a similar claim? I don’ think so.”
–Brahmsian

Video of the day

Soccer is fantastic. Take this video as Exhibit A. Only in soccer can a guy slide at full speed and dig his spikes into another man’s crotch, then writhe on the ground afterward as if he’s the one feeling the pain. It’s also a great sport because after essentially kicking a man in a place you shouldn’t be kicking a man, you don’t get beat up by the other team. You just get a red card.
