Quote of the day

“You talk about not walking people and making them earn it. There was a lot of situations [Sunday] where they were one hit away from
getting a two-out [run] but he made pitches. He bent some but he didn’t
break, and there’s something to be said for that.”
–Manager Terry Francona, referring to Clay Buchholz‘s Sunday start

Comment of the day

Apparently Dustin Pedroia didn’t get the notice that Red Sox Nation had its fair share of batting glove antics with Nomar Garciaparra.

“I agree with the comments on Joe West, but just one question; Does Dustin Pedroia(among others)REALLY need to adjust his batting gloves 15 times between each pitch? They must take a terrible beating BETWEEN PITCHES! Just get in the box and hit!!!!! Those “Batting glove” guys make me want to throw something thru the screen.”
