Things are going to get a bit crowded in Terry Francona‘s starting rotation once Daisuke Matsuzaka works out some kinks in the minor leagues.

While a team can never have too much pitching, it’s highly unlikely that the Red Sox, who have six proven veteran starters, will go with a six-man rotation. So who is the odd man out?

After the Big Three in Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and John Lackey, Francona and pitching coach John Farrell will have to choose a fourth and fifth starter between Matsuzaka, Clay Buchholz and Tim Wakefield.

As of 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, 69 percent of voters would like to see
Matsuzaka move to the bullpen, while 26 percent see Buchholz as the
odd man out. Just five percent of the voters want to see Wakefield
removed from the rotation.

As of 8 a.m. on Monday, the vote for Matsuzaka jumped to 71 percent, with Buchholz garnering 18 percent of the votes and Wakefield getting 11 percent of the votes.
