New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey was hospitalized Thursday after experiencing what was later diagnosed as a seizure in the team’s weight room, The Associated Press reports.

He was taken to a Louisiana hospital and is reportedly doing fine.

"I am OK. Thanks to everyone who has shown their concern," Shockey informed his fans through his Twitter page. "Don't worry about me. I will be fine."

Saints safety Darren Sharper, who accompanied Shockey to the hospital, was in the weight room when the incident occurred.

"It was scary," Sharper said. "We didn't know what was going on."

The seizure reportedly did not last long, and trainers quickly came to Shockey’s aid. About a minute later, he was lucid again and walked to the ambulance under his own power.

Shockey already had taken part in three straight days of team practice, and there is no word on how long he would be in the hospital or when he will be allowed to practice again.
