Which NL Ace Are You Least Looking Forward to Facing?

Go ahead, Red Sox Nation, pick your poison.

Manager Terry Francona‘s bats are in for a rude awakening in the next six days as the Al East sluggers are scheduled to face two of the game’s most dominant aces in Ubaldo Jimenez of the Rockies on Wednesday and Tim Lincecum of the Giants over the weekend at some point.

Both hurlers are just 26-years-old and each have exactly 40 wins since the start of the 2008 campaign. Lincecum has bagged the last two NL Cy Young Awards while Jimenez leads the MLB in wins this season with 13.

Jimenez captured his first six decisions of the season before finally suffering his first loss on May 9 — a game in which he allowed just one earned run on two hits over seven frames. Since that defeat, he’s gone 7-0 with a 1.36 ERA, which is slightly higher than his season ERA of 1.15.

Lincecum shot out of the gate with four straight wins, but the two-time Cy Young winner would win just two games over his next eight starts. Since that drought, he’s won his last two, allowing just two earned runs in both outings.

Tuesday’s question from Steven in Somerville. Which NL ace are you least looking forward to facing?
Text ‘SOX1’ to 542542 for Ubaldo Jimenez, or ‘SOX2’  to 542542 for Tim Lincecum. Submit your answer to the poll question and you’re automatically entered to win one of over 200 PRIZES! No purchase is necessary. For more info go to NESN.com/KGB.
