World Cup Boston 2010 Hosts Soccer and Cultural Events in the Hub

World Cup Boston (WCB) 2010 is bringing the excitement and international spirit of this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament to Boston, with a series of events and activities.

Events include public programming in soccer, culture and community for Boston youth and families of all backgrounds.

During the World Cup’s kickoff weekend, WCB will celebrate African diversity in the Hub with food, dancing and the chance to play with homemade soccer balls at the Boston Children’s Museum.

For children who are interested, there will be a "Mini World Cup" youth soccer tournament on June 26 and 27 at Moakley Field in South Boston, featuring clinics and entertainment, with special appearances by Boston soccer professionals.

On July 11, join more than 100,000 soccer fans at City Hall Plaza for a massive citywide celebration of the World Cup finals, featuring a Jumbotron, vendors and appearances by New England Revolution and Boston Breakers players.

Local World Cup viewing parties will be held by various Boston establishments throughout the month, including The House of Blues Boston, which will have the entire New England Revolution team on hand to celebrate the kick-off of USA vs. England on June 12.
