Despite Landing C.J. Spiller in Draft, Bills Preparing For Painful 2010 Campaign

The Bills' 2010 season might actually be less exciting than The T.O. Show, which ranks somewhere in between applying for a mortgage and watching The Decision while undergoing a root canal. Without further ado, let's take a closer look at the Bills on the 29th stop of NESN.com's 32-day voyage through the NFL.

2009 Record: 6-10 (missed playoffs)

2010 Schedule Difficulty: Their opponents went a combined 128-128 (.500 winning percentage) in 2009, which is tied for the 16th most difficult schedule in the NFL.

Key Additions: Running back C.J. Spiller (draft), inside linebacker Andra Davis, defensive lineman Dwan Edwards

Key Losses: Wide receiver Terrell Owens, wide receiver Josh Reed

Burning Question: How about that passing game? Last season, running back Fred Jackson and punter Brian Moorman combined to complete 2-of-2 passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Buffalo's stout trio of quarterbacks, on the other hand, combined to complete 254-of-439 passes (57.9 percent) for 2,737 yards, 15 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. The Bills ranked 30th in passing yards in 2009, but they seem content with bringing back Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Edwards and Brian Brohm.

Buffalo had an embarrassingly poor draft, ignoring many needs and waiting until the seventh round to draft a quarterback — Troy's Levi Brown. Sure, the Bills got a shiny new Cadillac in C.J. Spiller, but they've also got four quarterbacks who might be third-stringers on most NFL teams.

2010 Outlook: Prediction? Pain.
